Some people are amazed that with a Republican president and a Republican congress our government can’t accomplish anything. That number doesn’t include me. Congress is composed of the house of representatives and the senate, both are supposedly completely dominated by the Republican party. This, in and of itself, would be a rare thing. The Democrats controlled Congress for 75 years. The men and women who now have majority control of both houses wear the Republican moniker.
The reality is that those who got elected to the latest congress are Republicans in name only. Their actual persuasions lean to the far left. Their advisors were smart enough to realize that with the wave of resentment against the Democratic party, they would have no hope of winning if they ran as Democrats. Don’t kid yourself, this is where their party loyalty kicks in; they simply pledge allegiance to the Republican party and get elected. They can still vote along Democratic party lines even wearing the Republican shirt. Their first and most important allegiance is to get elected. After that they are in position to serve as they please, not their constituents the American people who elected them, the PARTY.
Don’t believe that’s true? As the old cliche’ says, “Just hide and watch.” Yes it’s true they hate Donald Trump because he’s a successful business man and not a professional politician like them, but what they hate even more is giving up the control they have had for so long.
Government doesn’t have any money except that which it takes from its people through taxes. Thanks to the Democratic control of congress for so long, the USA has the highest tax rates in the world. From those taxes, members of congress pay themselves $174,000 per year. And that’s for what amounts to a part-time job; they only average “working” 140 days a year. That, however can be as few as 101. I won’t bother to list all the freebies and perks they give themselves. The average American worker is some where in the $50,000 per year range and works 260 days a year.
