This Campaign Isn’t Over?

Yesterday Georgia voters rejected T-SPLOST, by an over whelming two to one margin. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it was an attempt by government to impose a 1% sales tax on the entire state to “put people to work and fix Atlanta’s traffic problem.”

This morning a blustering, red-faced politician was on television loudly proclaiming, “This campaign isn’t over!! This issue hasn’t been resolved!!”

Ah, excuse me Mr. Windbag politician but the people have spoken. Maybe we didn’t say what you and your minions, who were waiting to gobble up the hundreds of millions of dollars in contacts and kick-backs wanted to hear, but we have spoken. The campaign IS INDEED OVER.

Yes, you and your privileged supporters who expected to profit, spent a few million dollars trying to convince the rest of us that your interests were only pure and in the best interest of everyone, but you clearly missed the mark. Get over it!

I NEVER travel into or around the City of Atlanta and neither does 90% of the rest of the state of Georgia. You didn’t convince me, or the rest of the state, why we should give a damn about Atlanta’s traffic problem OR why we should have any interest in paying for it…..But by all means please continue to spend your money on advertising. That does help the media’s economy and cash flow. Besides, it’s kinda fun to watch you flop around trying to sell your B.S.

Nobody bought it this time. I doubt you will change that next time, if there is a next time :>)

About J. D. Groover

I truely believe that what should matter most in life is how you see yourself, not how someone else tries to convince you to see yourself. *****Life is not about "finding yourself"*****its about creating yourself.!!!!! I write and post things here because I like to think I am contributing some things of value to my world. Some times a little humor, some times things with a more serious tone, but hopefully always in good taste. If what I post occasionally bites a politician in the ass, all the better :>)
